X-Tomi Design have modified the upcoming Sport version of the Suzuki Swift, which will be launched in early 2018 in India. Some changes are subtle while others are obvious.
The engine is the same K14C 1.4-litre BOOSTERJET turbocharged petrol engine, producing 140 PS at 5,500 rpm and 230 Nm of torque from 2,500-3,500 rpm, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. These figures are matched only by the Abarth Punto in the compact hot hatch segment.
On the outside, there are changes to the black strip running across the grille, which has been bored. It also has an intercooler mounted upfront. A slit has been made into the bonnet and the front under-spoiler has been exaggerated by increasing its size, creating that much needed downforce for the front tires, because ultimately, this is a FWD configuration machine.
The sides get the widebody treatment with extra cladding riveted in, along with black ‘Swift’ decals. It sits on a set of Nitto rubber, which in turn houses golden rims, just like we would expect on any tuner-modified car out there.
The roof and ORVMs have been blacked out in addition to the light black tint on the windows. It also features a full width spoiler to keep the car from taking off. The springs have been lowered, which also means that they must have been stiffened to prevent them from bottoming out at higher speeds and during cornering.
This Swift Sport reminds us of the modified Swift that came up earlier this year which took a lot of inspiration from the Nissan GT-R itself. It is interesting that enthusiasts have taken notice of the Swift Sport even though it was unveiled just last week at the Frankfurt motor show.
